Drumming workshop at Shimmyfest

Beginner/Intermediate Mediterranean/Middle Eastern drumming.
Crossing over from African drumming? Does your playing not really sound like the
doumbeks on bellydance recordings?  Ready to add some variety to your playing?
  A bit of coaching will save you hours of trial and error, and enable big improvements
in your playing. Workshop includes technique review, rhythms with variations,
coaching, and explanations.

1 Hour group workshop in the workshop/vendor room
4:15 P.M. Saturday
$15 per person

Instructor:  Doc (Dr. J. Price) has taken instruction from well known professionals such as Rick Fink, Susu Pampanin, Mohamad Jamal, Reda Darwish, and Uncle Mafufo.
 He has played for several bellydance groups at Muskogee OK Ren Faires and
at Tulsa Octoberfest and Tulsa Mayfest.  He is the organizer of
Numair’s Caravan Drum & Dance Jam at Stroud OK Medieval Faire multiple years,
and at the 2007 Fayetteville’s NW Arkansas Renaisance Faire,
coordinator of a long running weekly drum circle in Tulsa,
and leader of TMD (Tulsa Mediteranean Drummers); day job as university professor.

FREE Photoshoots at shimmyfest:

Images taken by Lena at shimmyfest will be posted on-line with a password.
Password cards will be handed out during the day and in the evening. Lena
will have a backdrop and lights set up and anyone that wants their photo taken
in costume, street clothes, with friends, etc. may do so with no sitting fee! There is
no requirement to purchase photos. All images will be hosted on-line and if you
choose to purchase images, you may do so on the internet. Images will be printed
and mailed directly to your home. Lena also photographs the entire show and will
host those images online as well. You may order those as well. Everyone loves the
